Daisy Miller is the story of an American girl in a European setting. She is young. beautiful but ‘uncultivated’ (uncultured/ uncivilised). Mr Winterbourne meets Daisy while they were at Vevey and immediately started liking her. He even followed her to Rome.
The book highlights the differences in cultures of America and Europe. Daisy likes to roam with guys. She has a flirty nature. This is not very common characteristic in European girls. They don’t like Daisy because of her ‘modern’ lifestyle.
Even Daisy likes Mr Winterbourne but makes him distant by her own deeds.
It is an interesting and short read.
